Celiac Disease is also called celiac sprue or gluten-sensitive enteropathy. It is a condition of digestive and autoimmune disorder that results in damage to the lining of the small intestine when gluten included foods are taken. When people with celiac disease eat foods containing gluten, their immune system forms antibodies to gluten which attack the intestinal lining that causes inflammation in the intestines and creates damage.The other health disorders that may accompany Celiac disease include:

- Cancer of the intestine
- Osteoporosis
- Growth problems in children
- Seizures
- Thyroid disease
- Type 1 diabetes
