Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) is also known as chronic lung disease. It is a form of chronic lung disorder commonly observed in infants with low birth weight. BPD is classified into mild, moderate and severe conditions. Many infants are born with bronchopulmonary dysplasia exhibit signs of respiratory distress syndrome associated with Tachypnea, Tachycardia, frequent desaturations, and increased respiratory effort.
Some of the symptoms of Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia:
- Rapid and shallow breathing
- Grunting sounds
- Flaring of the nostrils
- Sharp pulling of the chest

Consult a doctor if you see signs of chronic breathing difficulty that persists for a long time. Early treatment may help in quick recovery.
