Brief psychotic disorder is a period of sudden onset of psychotic symptoms whose duration is generally shorter and non-recurring. The disorder is typically diagnosed in a person\\\'s late 20s or early 30s and last for a maximum one month. There are three forms of brief psychotic disorder:
- Brief psychotic disorder without a stressor
- Hallucinations
- Disorganized thinking
- Disorientation or confusion
- Changes in eating or sleeping habits
- Inability to make decisions
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you have drastic mood disorders with psychotic features. The treatment may include medication and psychotherapy.
