Bradycardia is a condition of low heart rate that is below normal heart rate. The normal heart rate of an adult is between 60 to 100 times a minute. Bradycardia can be a serious problem if the heart pumps insufficient blood to the body. Bradycardia may be caused due to the heart tissue damage, high blood pressure, heart disorder at birth, infection of heart tissue, complication of heart surgery, underactive thyroid gland, repeated disruption of breathing during sleep, inflammatory disease, and imbalance of mineral related substances.
Some of the symptoms of Bradycardia:
- Feel dizzy or lightheaded
- Feeling short of breath
- Feeling of extreme tiredness
- Chest pain
- Having trouble to concentrate
- Fainting due to drop in blood pressure
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you have signs and symptoms of bradycardia. The doctor may suggest medication and treatment based on the condition.
