Bladder Cancer begins in the bladder, a balloon-shaped organ that stores urine. It begins in epithelial lining of the urinary bladder where abnormal cells multiply without control. Bladder cancer is typically observed in older people, which can be diagnosed at early stage. The types of bladder cancer include transitional cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, and adenocarcinoma. Men in older age with smoking habit are at high risk for the bladder cancer, also people with white complexion, history of cancer treatment, taking diabetics medication, chronic bladder inflammation, family history of cancer and exposure to certain medication are risk factors.
Some of the symptoms of bladder cancer:
- Blood in urine
- Pain during urination
- Frequent urination
- Back pain
- Pelvic pain
Consult a doctor if you have signs of pain and blood seen during urination. You may be suggested to go through few tests to diagnose the condition.
