Bile ducts are the tubes that carry bile, bile is a fluid that breaks down fats in food and help in the digestion. Bile is made by the liver, stored in the gall bladder and the bile duct connects the liver and gallbladder to the small bowel. The actual cause of bile duct cancer is unknown and the risk factors that trigger the condition are ulcerative colitis, sclerosing cholangitis, Choledochal cysts, liver fluke infection, and in people over 65 years.
Some of the symptoms of Bile Duct Cancer:
- Dark yellow colored urine
- Stools in a pale color
- Itchy skin
- Discomfort in the tummy area
- Loss of appetite
- High temperatures
- Weight loss
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor immediately if you have signs of dark yellow colored urine and pale stools. The doctor may suggest some tests to diagnose the condition.
