Avascular Necrosis is also called Osteonecrosis or Bone infarction or Aseptic Necrosis or Ischemic Bone Necrosis. Avascular Necrosis is condition of cellular death or death of bone tissue due to lack of blood supply. Lack of blood supply to bones would lead to collapsing of bones resulting in dislocation and fractures. People who went through chemotherapy, alcoholism, excessive steroid intake, post trauma, vascular compression, hypertension are some of the factors which increase the risk of Avascular Necrosis.
Some of the symptoms of Avascular Necrosis:
- Severe joint pains
- Shoulder and knee pains
- Hip and foot pain
- Blood clots and inflammation in arteries
