Arterial Dissection is a tear or rupture to the inner wall or lining of an artery. Dissections are most often in Aorta, the carotid artery and the vertebral artery. The common cause of dissection is trauma in the affected part of artery and the causes may vary depending on the type of dissection. High blood pressure, Trauma, Marfan syndrome, Hardening of the arteries and Aortic Aneurysms if neglected to treat may increase the risk of Arterial Dissection. Symptoms may vary depending on the type of dissection.
Some of the symptoms of Arterial Dissection:
- Severe chest pain
- Severe back pain
- Neck pain
- Vision problems
