Aphasia is a condition of communication disorder that is a disturbance of comprehension and expression of language which results with dysfunction or damage in parts of brain. This disorder is commonly seen in older adults particularly in people who faced stroke. Aphasia may be caused by brain tumor or infection, alzheimer\'s, and neurological disorder. There are various types of Aphasia: Expressive aphasia, Receptive aphasia, Anomic aphasia, Global aphasia and primary progressive aphasia.
Some of the symptoms of Aphasia:
- Trouble in speaking fluent
- Having difficulty in finding right words to communicate
- Poor accent
- Persistent repetition of phrases
- Inability to speak spontaneously
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor if you have signs of disordered communication. Some types may be effectively cured with right treatment.
