Familial Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm is also known as Familial Aortic dissection or Cystic medical necrosis of Aorta. In simple terms it is familial TAAD, a disorder of large arteries. Aorta is the main blood vessel that carries blood from heart to rest of the body. Aorta Aneurysm is the enlargement of Aorta, which should be surgically repaired and the delay can lead to aortic dissection. Familial Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm means it is hereditary that is run in the family.
