Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) is one of the common knee injuries, it is most likely occurred in people playing high demand sports like soccer, basket ball and foot ball. Bones are connected to each other through ligaments, a partial or a complete tear is Anterior Cruciate Ligament injury or sprain.
There are many factors for ACL as rapid changing of direction, sudden slow down while running in high speed, landing inaccurately from a jump, direct injury or collision.
Some of the symptoms of Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL):
- Pain and swelling within 24 hours of injury
- Tenderness along the joint line
- Discomfort when walking
- Loss of full range movement

Consult an Orthopedic if you notice swelling and pain in knee injuries. The doctor may suggest surgical treatment in severe injuries.
