Anovulatory cycle is a menstrual cycle disorder in which ovaries do not release an oocyte, means lack of ovulation. This is an ovulatory dysfunction that causes female infertility, though absent ovulation may not be a condition of Menopause. Anovulation or ovulatory dysfunction can be caused by various factors as obesity, low body weight, extreme exercise, hyperprolactinemia, perimenopause, thyroid dysfunction, hyperprolactinemia, and extreme levels of stress.
Some of the symptoms of Anovulation:
- Irregular menstrual periods
- Completely missing period cycle
- Low levels of progesterone
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a Gynecologist if you are continuously missing you menstrual cycle or disordered cycle. Early treatment would help in quick recovery.
