Ankylosis of Tooth or Dental Ankylosis is a rare condition where there is solid fixation of tooth from fusion of the root to bone that prevents them from erupting. Dental Ankylosis can occur in primary or permanent teeth, but commonly seen in primary or baby teeth than in adult or permanent teeth. The factors that may cause dental ankylosis are infection in tooth & jaw bone, abnormal bone metabolism, heredity, due to constant pressure of tongue on the tooth, space between membranes around teeth.
