Ankyloglossia is also called Tongue-tie. Tongue-tie is a congenital oral condition in which decreases the range of tongue motion. This would lead to problems in speech or eating, usually found in infants, toddlers and older children. Tongue-tie may loosen overtime and resolve on its own, sometimes may need treatment or simple surgical procedure in severe cases.
Some of the symptoms of Ankyloglossia:
- Difficulty in movement of tongue to sides and upper teeth
- Trouble in sticking out tongue
- Tongue may appear heart shaped when stretched out
