Angina is squeezing discomfort in chest due to reduced blood flow to heart muscles. Angina is also known as Angina pectoris, it can be recurring problem or a sudden & acute condition. Angina can be differentiated from other chest pains by the feeling of discomfort as indigestion. It can be typically described as pressure, heaviness, tightness, or squeezing pain in chest.
Angina occurs in different types: Stable or chronic angina, Unstable angina, Variant angina or Prinzmetal\'s Angina and Angina with documented spasm. The risk increases in people with history of hypertension, tobacco smoking, unhealthy cholesterol levels, diabetes, overweight or obese, metabolic syndrome, family history and inactive lifestyle.
Some of the symptoms of Angina:
- Chest pain
- Severe and sudden sweating
- Shortness of breath
- Pain in other parts of body as neck, jaw, shoulder or back
- Dizziness and Nausea
