Angina is pressure in the chest or discomfort in area of heart muscles when there is lack of oxygen-rich blood. The pain may pass to shoulders, arms, neck, jaw or back. Angina is a symptom underlying heart problem and the pain may be felt like indigestion. Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) refers to group of conditions that result due to decreased flow in the coronary arteries. Common symptoms of ACS may include pressure in the chest as in heart attack. As the first sign of ACS, sudden cardiac arrest can help us go for diagnosis.
Some of the symptoms of Acute Coronary Syndrome
- Chest pain (angina)
- Pain in other parts of body as upper arm or jaw
- Nausea and vomiting
- Shortness of breath
- Sudden and heavy sweating
