Aneurysm is a balloon like bulge in an artery, occurs when the pressure of blood passing through weak artery forces the vessel to bulge out forming blisters. The causes are not completely known but likely to develop risk in people with Hypertension and smokers. Aortic Dissection occurs when layers of wall of aorta are torn or ruptured, allowing blood to flow between layers.
Some of the symptoms of Aortic Dissection:
- Unconsciousness
- Sudden chest pain or upper back pain
- Shortness in breath
- Sudden difficulty in speaking or vision loss
- Weakness or partial paralysis
- Pulse variation in two arms
When should you consult a doctor?
Consult a doctor when severe chest pain, fainting and shortness of breath. The symptoms may not specify serious problem but it is good to go for early diagnosis.
