Anal fissures also called rectal fissures are a break or small tear of skin that lines anal canal. Most anal fissures are caused by stretching anus opening beyond its capacity, in other cases child birth trauma in women, crohns disease, ulcerative colitis and poor toileting in children. They may be acute or chronic.
Some of the symptoms of Anal Fissures:
- Pain in bowel movements
- Bleeding
- Itching
- Unusual discharge
