Amyloidosis is a rare condition producing abnormal protein called amyloid in tissues and organs. Amyloid deposits may be collected throughout the body or in few parts of the body. Amyloidosis may lead to serious problem due to organ failure. It is found more in women and increases risk with age. There are multiple types of Amyloidosis: Primary amyloidosis, secondary amyloidosis, hereditary amyloidosis, senile systemic amyloidosis, organ-specific amyloidosis, dialysis-related amyloidosis.
Some of the symptoms of Amyloidosis:
- Fatigue and weakness
- Weight loss
- Joint pains
- Changes in skin color
- Clay-colored stools
- Breathing difficulty
- Numbness in legs
- Swelling of tongue
