Acute Upper Respiratory Infection is transmittable infection of upper respiratory tract. The upper respiratory tract includes nose, throat, bronchi, larynx and pharynx. Acute upper respiratory infection is caused by both viruses and bacteria. Cold is a common Upper Respiratory Infection (URI), sinusitis, epiglottis, bronchitis, laryngitis and influenza are some of the other URIs.
Some of the symptoms of Acute Upper Respiratory Infection:
- Mild or severe fever
- Headache
- Severe weakness
- Throat pain when swallowing
- Difficulty in breathing
