Acute Appendicitis is swelling of the appendix which results in severe pain in the lower right abdomen. The appendicitis pain turns sharp when inflammation of appendix deteriorates. Appendicitis usually occurs in people between ages 10 and 30 and the standard treatment is to remove appendix by surgery. Appendicitis when there is a blockage in the appendix due to infection, or a foreign body, often by stool or cancer.
Some of the symptoms of Appendicitis:
- Dull pain near navel and slowly moves to lower right abdomen and becomes sharp
- Loss of appetite and abdomen swelling
- Nausea or vomiting after abdominal pain
- Difficulty in passing gas
- Fever of 99-102 degrees
