Abnormal Heart Beat is also called arrhythmia or heart arrhythmia, heart beats irregularly, either too slow or too fast. Normal heart beat ranges from 50 to 100 times per minute. Arrhythmia can occur in normal heart rate or with slow heart rates called bradyarrhythmias (less than 50 beats per minute) or in rapid heart rates called tachyarrhythmias(more than 100 beats per minute).
Arrhythmia can be caused by several factors as: coronary artery disease, electrolyte imbalances in blood, changes in heart muscle, during healing from heart surgery. There are several types of arrhythmias: Premature atrial contractions, PVCs, Atrial fibrillation, Atrial flutter,PSVT, Heart block are some of them.
Some of the symptoms of Abnormal Heart Beat:
- Feeling chest pain
- Having either slow or fast heart beat
- Problem in breathing
- Dizziness and nausea
