Dr. Tejas Patel is awarded Padma Shri for the year 2015. He is the chairman and chief interventional cardiologist at Apex Heart Institute. He is the recipient of Dr. B.C. Roy National Award and Dr.K. Sharan Cardiology Excellence Award in recognition of his contribution in the field of cardiology of India. Dr.Patel is an internationally recognized expert in trans radial coronary and peripheral interventions having performed well over 32,000 out of 60,000 Cath lab procedures. He served as director in multiple reputed hospitals Krishna Heart Institute, Sterling Hospital and TCVS at Ahmedabad.

Dr. Tejas Patel has been invited as a speaker to over 150 medical conferences and symposia worldwide. He has authored Atlas of Transradial Interventions, contributed several chapters in many textbooks, over 50 publications & 100 abstracts in reputed national and international cardiology journals. Dr. Tejas has successfully performed over 75,000 Cath Lab procedures.
