Dr.(Prof) S Rajasekaran

Dr S Rajasekaran, who is the Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics & Spine Surgery at the Ganga Hospital, Coimbatore, is one of the eminent spine surgeons in the country. He has earned prominence for his specialization in  the area of spine surgery. His unit at the Ganga Hospital has 420 beds and 18 operating theatres dedicated to Trauma, Orthopaedic, and Spine Surgery and is reputed to be one of the largest specialty orthopedic units in South Asia.

Dr Rajasekaran is also the President of the Indian Orthopaedic Association as well as the President of the Association of Spine Surgeons of India. He is, at present, the Chief National Delegate of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association. He was also the Past President of the International Society for the Study of Lumbar Spine, Canada, and the Past President of the World Orthopaedic Concern.

Dr Rajasekaran has a number of credits to his name. He is on the Editorial Board of the Bone & Joint Journal and European Spine Journal. He is also the Deputy Editor to the Journals Spine, Global Spine Journal, and Journal of Craniovertebral surgery. He is the Chief Editor of the Video Atlas of Spine Surgery and the ASSI Textbook on Spinal Infections & Trauma. He has 127 publications in international journals and many national and international presentations.
