  • DENTAL implants are considered to be the best and most comfortable tooth replacement solution. An implant is an artificial root that is anchored to the bone on which a crown is placed. A dental implant is actually a replacement for the root or roots of a patient. Like tooth roots, dental implants are secured in the jaw bone and are not visible once surgically placed and allow the bone to osseointegrate. They are used to secure crowns (the parts of teeth seen in the mouth), bridgework or dentures
  • Sub-periosteal implants:Is used when the bone has atrophied and jaw structure is limited. The lightweight, individually-designed, metal framework fits over the remaining bone, providing the equivalent of multiple tooth roots. It may be used in a limited area or, if all the teeth are missing in the entire mouth. These are out dated implants.
  • Ramus framed implant:A bulky piece of metal that is implant in the gums will be used to support the dentures. It is constructed to be flexible. Once it is mounted, it can sustain the dentures.
  • Immediate implants:Dental implants can be placed in fresh sockets immediately after tooth extraction. These are called “immediate” implants. Then the implant is allowed to osseointegrate for four months and later the crowns are delivered.
  • Procedure for placements of implants:a) One stage surgery: In this procedure after loading an implant the waiting period is for four months and then crowns are placed.b) Two stage surgery: In this procedure suturing is done after loading an implant suturing is done and bone is allowed to adapt for six months. Later the sutures are open and crowns are placed
