Dr. Gopal Prasad is a senior Nephrologist in Patna with special expertise in Renal Transplantation and CAPD. He is also serving as the Assistant Professor in the Department of Nephrology in Patna Medical College and Hospital. He has been practicing for over 3 decades since 1987.

Dr. Gopal Prasad received his MBBS from Lalit Narayan Mithila University at Darbhanga, Bihar in 1987 with Honours in Pharmacology. He then pursued his Diploma in Child Health, Lucknow University in 1990; MD (Pediatrics) from L.N. Mithala University at Darbhanga, Bihar in the year 1993; and DM (Nephrology) from Banaras Hindu University (BHU) at Varanasi in the year 2000.

He started the CAPD/Live Related Renal Transplant centre while he was at the Institute of Medical Sciences at BHU,  in 1998. He also conducted the first Live Related Renal Transplant in Bihar, Patna on 25th June 2005.

Dr. Prasad is a Life Member of Indian Society of Nephrology (ISN). He has also published several papers and is the author of three chapters in the Hand Book of Clinical Nephrology.
