Achievements & Contributions

  • Prof.Rout was elected as Fellow, National Academy of Medical Sciences ( FAMS) in 1991.  He was awarded as “A” class Scientist – 1991 Institute Award, Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute, Trivandrum for outstanding contribution to the development of a Hydrocephalus Shunt System and Institute of Neurology ( Madras) Oration Award in 1992. 
  • Prof.Rout was conferred “For the Sake of Honour Award" by the Rotary Club of Madras Metro and “Rashtriya Gaurav Award “ by the International Friendship Society of India in 2011 and “Life Time Achievement Award” by Madras Neuro Trust in 2013.
  • Contributed five chapters to the first edition of Indian Textbook of Neurosurgery on Vascular diseases, and chapters to Recent Advances in Stroke Research, Progress in Clinical Neurosciences and Tropical Neurosurgery. 
  • Over 105 publications and over 120 scientific papers presented in national and international conferences, 9 research projects to his credit.
