Dr. Chintan B Patel has been awarded the prestigious Society of American Gastro Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) award in three consecutive years (in 2016 at Boston, USA; in 2017, at Houston, USA; in 2018  & Seattle, USA) for demonstration of several innovative techniques and research ideas in Laparoscopic Surgery, Bariatric surgery for Obesity management & Weight Loss.

He is among the first surgeons from India to be part of the Bariatric committee SAGES, USA (Society of American Gastro Endoscopic Surgeons) which makes standard protocols, safety issues, guidelines in Bariatric and Laparoscopic Surgery.

He made presentations in various international journals and also published a variety of Research articles, rare case reports. He was featured twice in the Esteemed journal, BARIATRIC TIMES, Pennsylvania(USA).

He was an invited faculty to Police General Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand by Dr. Angkoon Anuwong for advances in Endoscopic thyroid surgery. He was an integral part of the surgical team of India’s 1st Transoral Endoscopic Parathyroidectomy in the year 2016 at Sir J.J. Hospital in Mumbai. His surgical team got several laurels for this rare concept of scarless surgery.
