Dr. Chacko did his MBBS followed by MS (General Surgery). He then did MCh in Plastic Surgery from the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh. He then went on to do further formal training and qualifications in the various sub-specialties of Plastic Surgery, such as Pediatric Plastic Surgery, Hand Surgery, Reconstructive Microsurgery, and Cosmetic Surgery, from the UK, the USA, Canada and Singapore.

Dr. Chacko did MRCS from Edinburgh in the UK. He also did a Fellowship in Pediatric Plastic Surgery from Canada, a Fellowship in Hand and Microsurgery from the National University of Singapore, and a  Certified course in Cosmetic Surgery from the USA.

After coming back to India after his two year stint abroad, he joined the Lourdes hospital, as the Consultant and Head of Plastic Surgery. He started the Lourdes Institute of Plastic Surgery (L.I.P.S.), based in the same hospital, and has performed more than 4000 procedures in the past 5 years.
