About

Dr. Asif Iqbal topped the Medical entrance exam in 2003 and graduated as MBBS from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital in 2008. He served 1 year as Emergency Medical officer in Jorhat Medical College. Then he started his postgraduate training in Gauhati Medical College in 2010 and completed MD (General Medicine) in 2013. He worked as Senior Resident in Medical Oncology in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai and Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute for 1 year. He topped the DM entrance exam for Haematology in 2014 and started postdoctoral training at IHTM, Kolkata. He qualified as DM in Clinical Haematology in 2017. He is trained in benign and malignant hematological diseases and holds expertise in chemotherapy and bone marrow transplantation. He was also a fellow of International CML foundation and obtained a preceptorship from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, NewYork in 2016.
