Dr. Amol Samarth

Dr Amol Samarth has completed MBBS from Government Medical College, Nagpur in 1999 and postgraduation MD (Medicine) from TNMC and BYL Nair Ch. Hospital and Government Medical College, Nagpur in 2004. He has also done DM (Gastroenterology) from LTMMC & LTMGH, Sion, Mumbai in 2010.
He is a consultant gastroenterologist and hepatologist; endocrinologist and interventional endoscopy specialist. He is proficient in diagnostic and therapeutic gastroscopic and colonoscopic procedures and also in advanced GI therapeutic procedures. He is trained and experienced in basic and advanced therapeutic ERCP procedures. He is also trained in performance and evaluation of high resolution oesophagal and rectal manometry (HRM) and state-of-the-art Video Capsule Endoscopy (VCE) and double-balloon enteroscopy (DBE). He is the pioneer in and most experienced in performing advanced endoscopic modality of Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS). He has performed the first successful POEM procedure for achalasia cardia in Nagpur.
He is a life member of the Indian Society of Gastroenterology (ISG), Indian Medical Association (IMA) and Academy of Medical Sciences (AMS). He is an author for the chapter on “Role of alcohol in liver carcinogenesis” Elsevier Publications book on “Alcohol and liver disease”, 1st edition, 2011. He has many papers in national and international journals. He is also a faculty in Endoscopy and Endoscopic Ultrasound in national conferences.
