G.B. Pant Hospital, Delhi

The Govind Ballabh Pant Hospital, more popularly referred to as the G.B. Pant Hospital, is one of the internationally recognized hospitals of Delhi. The hospital, which was inaugurated by the late Prime Minister Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru on 30th April 1964, started with only 229 beds. Today, the tertiary care institution for Heart, Brain, Gastrointestinal, and Psychiatric disorders has grown to a 691-bedded hospital.

The G.B. Pant Hospital offers super specialty treatment to about 3 lac patients through the Outpatient department and about 15,000 patients in the General and Private wards every year. One of the unique ideas is the Cardiac Rehabilitation and Yoga Centre, which offers excellent service to cardiac patients, especially those who have undergone cardiac surgery or interventional cardiac procedures. The hospital offers outstanding facilities for all its procedures, including surgeries.

The hospital is a well-known reputed centre for post¬doctoral teaching and training, and is recognized for its excellent research facilities. The Institution is recognized by both, the Medical Council of India and the University Grants Commission as an independent Post Graduate College, affiliated to Delhi University. It offers post¬doctoral D.M. degrees in Cardiology, Neurology, and Gastroenterology apart from M.Ch. degrees in Cardio Thoracic Surgery, Neuro Surgery, and Gastrointestinal Surgery. The faculty of G.B. Pant Hospital has contributed many articles and research papers in national and international journals.
